Hey, welcome to the Roasterie.
If you’ve ever walked past our corner in Calgary and smelled coffee in the air, you know something’s going on. But here’s the inside story; this is how we roast.

Small batches of specialty Arabica beans, right here on-site, every day. We’re not talking about giant industrial roasters pumping out tons of coffee.
Our machine holds just 5 pounds at a time, but oh boy, it’s mighty. Every scoop of green beans, every crack of the roast, every cooling tray rotation; it’s all part of what makes our coffee taste… well, exactly like it should.

Fresh Coffee, Every Time

We believe coffee should be roasted for the cup it’s about to become, not for a shelf in a grocery store. That’s why we sell small amounts of beans too, it gives people a chance to come back, taste different coffees, and really get to know what they like. We love seeing our customers become true, picky, coffee gourmets.

Roasting by Instinct

Some beans come with roasting suggestions, but mostly we trust our experience. Knowing the bean variety and how it was processed, we can tell the best roast time and temperature to bring out its natural flavour.

We don’t chase trends or gimmicks. Every batch has its own timing and temperature, that’s how we make sure the coffee is consistent, while still letting each origin show its personality.

The Process, Up Close

Roasting at the Roasterie is a bit of a show. Customers often watch as we scoop the beans, drop them into the roaster, and let them crackle and pop. The aroma fills the air, the cooling tray spins the beans until they rest, oils are released, flavours develop… it’s a ritual we love to share.

Some people stop in just for this; watching, smelling, sipping a cappuccino while their beans roast right in front of them.
There’s true craft in every batch, and that crack of the beans is one of our favourite sounds.
